Being a working mother with deadlines to meet, school runs and all the ongoing activities, I had been craving a calm break with my family for months

Being a working mother with deadlines to meet, school runs and all the ongoing activities, I had been craving a calm break with my family for months. The noise of city life was getting on our nerves. It was at that time that a friend suggested Bhimtal, a peaceful lake town in the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand with a suggestion to book Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort. I had no idea that this quick weekend getaway was going to become one of the most treasured family memories.

The First Glimpse of Bhimtal

The drive out of Delhi to Bhimtal was a pleasant trip that started in the city and slowly gave way to pine-lined back roads and mountains. The moment we got to Bhimtal, the air was fresh and clean and the views of the lake left us breathless. It was as though one was entering a postcard.

I must have looked up quite a number of resorts in Bhimtal, but the Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort seemed very interesting to me because of its location, classy look, and family-friendliness. And when we got here it did not disappoint. Actually, it surpassed whatever we had expected.

Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort: Where Nature Meets Comfort

The resort is secluded in a green landscape with a panoramic view of Bhimtal Lake. The first thing that impressed me was the architecture; the building is so integrated into the landscape with its picturesque stone walls and spacious wooden balconies. We had a lovely large room overlooking the lake, that was spotless and pleasantly furnished. On the balcony we could see the birds starting their chirping at sunrise, and the sun peeking over the misty lake-this was a sheer luxury to us suburbanites.

All the details, such as the kind hospitality and the carefully selected in-room amenities were evidence of the thoughtful design. My children were thrilled by the open garden area, where they could freely run around, and my husband and I had some relaxation!

Activities That Brought Us Closer

The team at Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort helped us plan a relaxed itinerary suited for families. We began with a peaceful nature walk around Bhimtal Lake. The path meandered through forest trails and quaint village corners. It was refreshing to see my kids so captivated by butterflies and local flora, instead of their screens.

Later, we indulged in boating—a quintessential Bhimtal experience. Gliding over the shimmering water with my family, surrounded by hills and tranquility, was deeply therapeutic. The kids squealed with excitement as we rowed close to the little island in the lake.

Back at the resort, evenings were equally magical. There was a bonfire arranged on request, and we sat around it under a starlit sky, enjoying hot snacks and storytelling. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, even surprising the kids with marshmallows to roast!

Why It’s Perfect for Families

I’ve stayed at a fair share of resorts in Bhimtal and nearby hill towns, but Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort truly understands what families need on vacation. The calm ambiance, safety, spacious grounds, delicious food, and genuinely caring staff make it ideal for both relaxation and light adventure.

The in-house restaurant offered a wide variety of cuisines—from North Indian comfort food to continental dishes—all made with fresh local ingredients. Even my picky eaters were impressed! What’s more, the resort was happy to accommodate special meal requests for the kids.

There’s also a small indoor games area, and outdoor activities like guided hikes, birdwatching, and even yoga sessions on request. You can do as much or as little as you want. For us, it was the perfect balance between exploration and unwinding.

More Than Just a Stay

What makes Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort special is not just its stunning location, but the warmth and authenticity of the experience. It doesn’t feel like a hotel—it feels like a gentle embrace from the hills. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, remembered our preferences, and made us feel like we were visiting family rather than staying at a commercial property.

For families looking for peaceful and rejuvenating resorts in Bhimtal, this is a true gem. Whether it’s a short weekend break or a longer holiday, it offers the perfect setting to reconnect with nature, with your loved ones, and with yourself.

Conclusion

As we packed our bags and checked out, none of us was ready to leave. The kids pleaded for “just one more night,” and my husband and I promised we’d return soon. That’s the kind of place Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort is—it pulls at your heartstrings and makes you want to come back.

I returned home with a phone full of pictures and a heart full of joy. In the flurry of our busy lives, this getaway reminded us of the importance of slowing down, breathing deeply, and soaking in the beauty around us.

If you’re considering a family trip to the hills, trust me—Tiaraa Monolith Lake Resort is not just one of the best resorts in Bhimtal, it’s a memory-making destination in itself.
