Recommended Routes for Trekking in Nepal

Nepal is one of the prominent destinations for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and the trekkers. Each year more than one million tourists visits Nepal and one out of four has explicitly come for trekking in Nepal. Except religious tourists, especially Hindu people mostly from India who comes to visit Pashupatinath Temple, Budhanilkantha Temple, Manakamana Temple, and Muktinath Temple, most of other tourists’ main focus are trekking. In recent year, 1,158,000 tourists were recorded to have entered into Nepal out of which 273,646 went for Annapurna Region Trekking ( Annapurna Circuit Trekking, Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, Mardi Himal Trekking, Ghorepani-Poonhill Trekking), 37,878 went for Everest Region Trekking ( Everest Base Camp Trekking, Everest Three Pass Trekking, and Everest Gokyo Ri Trekking), while 11427 went for Langtang Region Trekking, 14738 went for Manaslu Region Trekking, and some numbers went for Dolpo Trekking, Kanchanjunga Trekking, and even few went for Ruby Valley Trekking, and Api Himal Trekking. This indicates that the focus of the tourist visit Nepal is on trekking in Nepal, exploring mountain beauty with legs, eyes, and heat all at once.

The most asked questions of the tourists, when they are in initial phase of their plan is that which route do we recommend. This is a hard question for a mountain lover, as each of those has their own beauty, meaning, and importance. Some people would have heard Everest is the top of the world, their priority is to touch the foot of the highest mountain in the world (8848meters)– if we we say you will have a better 360 view from Annapurna Base Camp to the, it’s almost worthless, a non-wanted advise and simply a divergence. Hence each one of the routes has uniqueness of their self, hardness of their type, and reward of different nature. I have here tried to explain some of the routes which are highly recommended by Blissful Himalaya, a renowned trekking and tour agency in Nepal.

Everest Region Trekking

The Everest Region trekking is one of the famous destinations for trekking in Nepal, with more than 40,000 trekkers in the area every year, it now has safe accommodations options from Tea Houses to a luxury hotel, and easy trials, the area has been more safe, secure, and hence attracting tourists with its top of the world fame, as people have curiosity on their mind regarding highest peak and its surrounds. The Tibetian culture, high Himalayas farmland, snow capped towering mountain peaks, the mountain landscape etc have added joy to the trek and are the featuring highlights of the trek. In the Everest Region, there are mainly three trekking options, but all the routs have same gateway through Lukla airport, being first few days same for all the routes. Everest Base Camp Trek, Everest Three Pass Trek, Gokyo Valley/Ri Trek, and Everest Panorama Treks are most liked trekking routes in this region which can be completed from 5 days to up to 21 days. The summary of each route has been discussed below;

  1. Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the highly recommended trekking routes as this is emotionally attractive as you are going at the base of the highest peak in the world, and having witness to various ancient architecture in mountain settlement, monasteries, and daily life skill of people living high up in the mountain. The trekking routes passes through beautiful farmland, filled with paddy, onion, and other crops crossing various suspension bridges at deep rivers. As you go high, start with the beautiful view of towering peaks including Ama Damlam, Nuptse, and Everest. The more you walk, the view gets better which will encourage you to walk though steady uphill trials. The Sherpa community settlement enroute, highly influenced by Tibetan culture, and encountering many monasteries on the way keeps you peaceful and relaxed with its spiritual bond. On its final days, you will walk to the Everest Base Camp, having good view of Everest Glacier made from years long glacier and hike up to the Kalapatthar to see the beautiful sunrise over to the top of the world, which gives you the immense pleasure, a memory for a lifetime. Then you will walk down via same route to end the trekking, while walking down is much easier and comfortable.
