There is no clear information available about the establishment date of the fort. However, several historical records mention its construction in 3rd C.E., built by a local king Suraj Sen. King struggled with the disease of leprosy, and with the help of a sage named Gwalipa, he could heal himself as sage provided him water from a sacred pond.
