About Hawa Mahal, Jaipur 

In 1799, Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh established Hawa Mahal Jaipur and Lal Chand Ustad led its design. History of Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

In 1799, Hawa Mahal was established by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. It was constructed as a result of Maharaja Pratap’s visit to Jhunjhunu where he witnessed Khetri Mahal. He was so moved by the unique design aspects of the Khetri Mahal that he decided to reinvent it with an enhanced version where Lal Chand Ustad led the design work. 

The main objective of constructing this palace was to designate a separate spot for royal women.
