Some historians also believe that Maharaja Madho Singh 1 created the palace in the 1750s and beautification was enhanced by Maharaja Jai Singh 1 who also added more edifices to it. Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh Man constructed the Man Sagar Lake apart from a dam, serving as a significant water source for the people living in the area.

The ruler of Ajmer in the 17th century decided to create a dam to resolve the water issue of this area. The dam was initially constructed with quartzite on the Ajmer Hills’ eastern side. Later, in the 17th century, significant changes were made to turn it into a masonry structure.
