The history of the Albert Hall Museum dates back to the visit of Albert Edward(King Edward VII), the Prince of Wales. During his visit, the construction of the structure was started, however, there was ambiguity around the use of this structure. 

In 1880, following the suggestions of then-resident surgeon, Dr. Thomas Holbein Hendley,  Sawai Madho Singh II  decided to use this building as a museum of Industrial Arts to exhibit the artistic talents of local artisans.

In 1881, a small museum was opened and in 1887, when its establishment was wholly completed, it was opened for public visit. When it comes to design aspects, they were led by architect Samuel Swinton Jacob with the help of Mir Tujumool Hoosain.
